ExCAL Ltd is an Environmental Consultancy, within which I hold a position as an Environmental Consultant. My work covers a number of different environmental and engineering aspects, and involvement in a project often covers work through the planning stage of the development through to completion of the project. I frequently liaise with clients in order to fully understand their aims so as to ensure that their needs are met with high quality and concise reporting, whilst also maintaining a good relationship by maintaining frequent dialogue. I am a licenced bat worker, holding an NRW licence to undertake standard survey work, including Preliminary Roost Assessments and Emergence / Re-entry Dawn / Dusk Surveys for bats. Duties undertaken in this role include: - - Supervision of borehole installation and subsequent analysis of water and gas samples;- Soil sampling and subsequent analysis;- Supervision/sampling of trial pit excavations;- Percolation testing in accordance with BRE Digest 365;- Topographical surveying;- Occupational health and hygiene monitoring;- Traffic surveying;- Phase 1 habitat surveying;- Reptile surveying, including destructive surveys, mitigation and translocation to designated receptor sites;- Bat surveying, including Preliminary Roost Assessments and Dawn Re-entry / Dusk Emergence surveys and associated European Protected Species Licence (EPSL) applications;- Project management of commercial and private developments on land with historical contamination issues.
