Solutions ConsultantKcom Apr 2004 - Jan 2015Home BasedSolutions Consultant - During my time at Kcom, I have worked with many high profile customers across a number of sector verticals.Achievements:Appointed as the lead WAN design consultant for NFUM, working with the NFUM technical team to deliver a WAN solution to their insurance brokers and regional offices across the UK. Solution comprised of a novate and migrate strategy by novating existing services across to Kcom and then migrating these services to newer and more fit for purpose technology. This involved migrating their current network connections from 20-21CN and also migrating their core sites to 21CN technology to better leverage economies of scale whilst deploying a future proofed network technology.Lead Solutions Consultant for Mercedes Benz, working with the technical team at Mercedes in re-designing their owned and franchise dealer network comprising of 300 sites across the UK, to better leverage emerging technologies and lower their TCO. The change in technology was driven by their requirement to rollout new applications which demanded an increase in available bandwidth across the WAN. This involved deploying a bespoke WAN solution for their franchise and owned dealer network. Also consulted with Mercedes Benz in scoping an APM (Application performance management) solution which also drove the Kcom portfolio product development for APM. -

Worked closely with DeVere in redesigning their UK network to address both their commercial and technical requirements in the rollout of new applications including Citrix. Successfully migrated their UK network from a Frame Relay to a Private ADSL network.∗ Assessed and redesigned the Tibbett & Britten European Network to accommodate their growing bandwidth demands, and also meet their commercial requirements in reducing cost to the business. Consulted in the migration of their UK Operation to a Private ADSL Network, whilst advising the migration of their European Wide Area Network to an IPSec IP-VPN network topology.∗ Technical Lead for Smiths Group in the design and deployment of a Global IP-Sec VPN. Provided consultancy services to identify a detailed network design for their US, European and Asia Pac business networks. Worked closely and facilitated meetings with MCI to converge both their existing MPLS and IP-Sec networks.∗ Provided consultancy services to Christian Salvesen to assess the migration of their European network to xDSL technology, whilst still maintaining high availability SLA’s to all network locations. Assessed the merits of Policy based routing across their network connections Vs their overall business requirements. -
