Lean Manufacturing professional with proven experience providing operations management and technical field service to minimize exposure of quality issues, supply feedback to paper mill operations for product improvements, and follow through to end user with resolution.Being Green Belt Certified through NewPage and utilizing previously learned Lean Six Sigma tools through Rath & Strong training have allowed me to use these Project Management principles with both internal and external groups. My skills development started with a Packaging Science degree which led to an entry level position in the Marketing/Product Development group of Fleming Packaging. Projects within this small internal group allowed me to gain knowledge of the print industry and how customers bring new projects to market and the significance of working within a collaborative group which would include personnel from Ad Agencies, end user Marketing teams, and our own internal production planners for possible solutions to overcome obstacles.Work experiences within multiple areas of Fleming Packaging from Marketing to VP Operations assisted in the development of my skill set for finding creative solutions for operations and end users. Introduction to Lean Six Sigma tools and training by Rath & Strong Consulting afforded me the ability to utilize these tools for process improvement projects and increased my abilities to “think outside the box” to resolve issues in a multitude of areas including sales, product design, operations, and HR personnel. Moving to paper side of print production with MeadWestvaco/NewPage and then Verso allowed me to use my knowledge of print and packaging requirements to bring a fresh perspective within paper manufacturing when determining a path forward to resolve paper related quality issues with press personnel and print end users.
