I joined Sarre & Co,Chartered Surveyors, in October 2013 as Commercial Property Manager.I am responsible for managing a portfolio of properties,carrying out property inspections,and supporting the Directors of the business. I am a Member of the British Institute of Facilities Management (Member level), I also hold the Institute Of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely certificate, general risk assessment and fire risk assessment certificates..I was previously employed as the Office Services Manager for Bedell Group, an International Legal and Fiduciary Services Provider, where I managed the facilities of the head office in Jersey, which covered some 42,000 sq ft, divided between three adjoining buildings,and housing 270 staff, I also managed a team of 14 covering receptionists, messengers and scanning clerks, I managed the Health and Safety and Fire Safety for the premises. I lead the Damage Assessment Recovery team which is part of the Group's Business Continuity Plan, Prior to joining Bedell Group I was employed by the States of Jersey Airport Rescue & Fire Service for 24 years,10 of which I was Station Manager/Watch Commander where I managed an operational 'watch' and was part of the senior management team. I was also officer in charge of breathing apparatus (BA). In 1997 I attended a BA instructors course at the International Fire Training Centre and achieved the 2nd highest pass marks for officers attending courses. I also managed a number of projects, including replacing BA sets and cylinders and the procurement of a new set of fire kit. I introduced the Incident Command System (ICS) to the service which was being used in the UK. I also managed bird hazard control and introduced a number of initiatives, including the Scarecrow Bio-Acoustic system and a proactive patrol regime both designed to reduce bird strikes and improve flight/airfield safety. I also have 3 years service as a Retained fire-fighter with the Jersey Fire & Rescue Service.
