Test ManagerSynergy Jan 2010 - Jul 2010Synergy was separating from its service provider and had an aggressive time-line to relocate about 22 systems onto Synergy’s configuration.Major systems converted were:Lotus Notes: This was an internally sensitive cut-over project as the impact of just one issue could affect the reputation of the I.T. section. Full functional coverage was required and I wrote most of the tests to confirm this. Testing was undertaken by a group of 5 testers.DMS: The document management system links into many other systems and this project was a high-risk project with potential internal and external implications. I liaised with the Operations Support Manager, (the chief stakeholder), to scope the testing effort to the appropriate level for this risk. Many of the applications required regression testing and I put together a small team of about 12 testers for this implementation. I reported to the Operations Support Manager to get final sign-off for the project and to develop the post implementation action plan.Oracle: I worked together with the project manager for this project to develop the best strategy as well as managing the DBA resources. Regression testing of all Oracle-based systems was required.Ellipse/MIMS: This required the integrity of the Accounts systems to be maintained and full functionality of the system. The testers were taken from the business areas who had the business knowledge to run the tests. I established the teams and trained them in the use of HP Quality Center. We ran three “mock” implementations before the implementation to prove the integrity of the process. Most of the other systems required smaller test teams or I built the test scripts, ran the tests and reported on their success independently. Additional activities in this project included development of implementation plans, handover documents and Disaster Recovery reviews.Skills:HP Quality Center, Deployment life-cycle, Microsoft Suite (including Visio and Project). -

Analyst ProgrammerAlintagas Oct 1995 - Jun 2001The STS CIS Open-Vision Customer Information System was implemented in August 2000. The system was a package providing Meter Reading, Billing, Payments, Collections and Service functionality. There was little Reporting, and this is where a lot of the work was. There was some peripheral systems work and Service Order handling functionality. This involved the writing of shell scripts, PL/SQL stored procedures, and the writing of Crystal Solutions Seagate reports, and initially the data-mapping sub-project. Acquiring a detailed understanding of the CIS Open-Vision database was required, for the initial data-mapping, then for other applications. Winrunner was used to clear out large volumes of activity queues using scripts and excel spreadsheet input data, built from Seagate reports.Implementation of the CIS OV system in May 2000 using Crystal, Oracle SQL, Unix.Maintenance of the old CIS System, CICS, Cobol II, DB2, Design/1, QMF, SPUFI, Analyst Programmer. Reporting using Word and Excel. The Y2K project from Oct 1998 to Dec 1999.Initial project with STS for the CIS Open-Vision project that was shelved in January '99, then restarted later. I was involved in the Conversion project.
