Financial project evaluation and business propositions for Coffee Manufacturing initiatives, both for new and cost reduction opportunities in Coffee manufacturing and packing both at the local plant level and EU plants for Mondelez International and subsequently Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE). Additional responsibilities now include covering the financial and planning aspects of the Capital Engineering Manager who has recently retired.

Financial project evaluation and business propositions for Coffee Manufacturing initiatives, both for new and cost reduction opportunities in Coffee manufacturing and packing both at the local plant level and EU plants within the group at Mondelēz Intl., based in Banbury UK (formely Kraft Foods).

Management and monitoring of the Consolidated EU Coffee Manufacturing Capital Investment budget circa $60 - $100 million p.a. across 10 EU countries. Identify the viability and financial payback opportunities of restructuring and rationalisation initiatives in the Coffee Manufacturing category including presentation and sign-off by Senior Management and Directors:  Delivered tight budgetary control of the $60 - $100 million Capital Investment budget through best practice management and cost and cash-flow control in conjunction with the Global Engineering team based in Bremen and the EU Region Senior Management team.  Conducted detailed reviews of Coffee Manufacturing operations in all EU countries including benchmarking and restructuring opportunities, resulting in three plant closures and delivering on-going cost savings in excess of $100 million per annum.  Financial input into the evaluation and implementation of Global Engineering best practices and restructuring opportunities. Established education and training opportunities for non-finance staff and managers in the financial aspects of Capital and Restructuring evaluation techniques to positive effect.

Responsible to EU FP&A Director for Reporting, Control and Consolidation of all EU Business Results (17 countries) across all the product categories (4) including financials in both local currencies and USD, consolidated sales and marketing data and management and maintenance of the EU wide Oracle consolidation systems. Management of a staff of 3 Financial Analysts:  Key role in the successful timely and accurate reporting of EU financial results for ongoing reporting in the US under very tight deadlines, including business analysis for inclusion in Kraft Inc Quarterly Results announcements and SEC filings.  Developed strong working relationship with Kraft International HQ in the US and participated in several leadership workshops to improve and streamline financial reporting and consolidation policies and procedures.  Project Leader for Consolidations Module during development of a new Kraft International Worldwide Reporting and Forecasting System which was successfully implemented in 2002.  Provided direction and training for 3 Financial Analysts, working in both Consolidation and Business Systems administration to perform and develop in line with agreed company and individual goals.

Responsible to UK Category Directors / FP&A Manager for all aspects of Brand and Category profitability for the UK Coffee, Grocery and Away from Home businesses including business planning, financial modelling, control of advertising & promotional cost expenditure and market and share data. Management of a staff of 3 Financial Analysts:  Developed strong working relationship with the UK Business Units, working with Senior Managers delivering a quality financial management service which demonstrably contributed to improved financial results and market performance in particular Kenco FD Coffee growth in the UK.  Key member of X-functional team which successfully defended Kraft in referral to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission and OFT over Soluble Coffee Price Control in the Retail marketplace.  Provided direction and training for 3 Financial Analysts, working on both Branded and Private Label business sectors and Business Systems administration to perform and develop in line with agreed company and individual goals / targets.

Responsible to EU Manager Reporting for Business Results across three product categories including financials and asset management control in the then smaller Kraft EU region in both local currencies and USD. Management of one Financial Analyst: Successful timely and accurate reporting of EU financial results for both reporting in the region and for ongoing reporting in the US, including asset management control and business analysis. Involved in the successful implementation of an asset management review across Business Units to significantly improve cash-flow and reduce the fixed asset base.

Responsible to UK Business Planning Manager for UK Business Results across all product categories including financials, fixed overheads, Capex and asset management control, assisted by 2 Financial Analysts.
