Regularly described as one of the most influential people in the whisky industry, I’m a freelance writer, consultant, content creator and social media drambassador, who for the last 14 years has passionately promoted and preached the world of whisky, rum and other fine spirits, through my two industry leading websites; The Whisky Wire and The Whisky Business. I founded and manage the highly renowned @TheWhiskyWire Twitter / X account, the home to my industry leading social media-based content and events; including for the last 13 years: Tweet Tastings (the original series of virtual tastings), which continue to be the biggest in terms of reach and influence.Trusted and experienced to represent the biggest and more established names in the industry - as well as the smaller and newer kids on the dramming block, I’ve hosted over 250 Tweet Tasting events and have represented over 150 whisky, rum, gin, cognac and vodka brands. The account is now the most followed (non-brand/retail owned) whisky-based account in the UK. I regularly work with a number of drinks brands on a freelance basis, to produce content, consult on brand development and PR, write tasting notes for new products and advise on their social/digital strategy and content needs.Over the last 14 years, I have also hosted numerous group and corporate tasting events, along with contributing to articles for companies including IWSC; Club Oenologique and Virgin Atlantic. I've also judged for industry competitions, including The Spirits Business Scotch Masters, The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival Awards and the Rebel Bourbon Cocktail Competition.
