Role was 40% technical and 60% management.Selected contributions:• Worked with global server team to reduce the number of global physical servers by implementing virtualization across the Intel and Unix platforms. 65% of the server environment has been virtualized resulting in a savings in excess of $900K.• Consolidated the global backup environment on Tivoli Storage Management which reduced tape and offsite storage costs yielding $175K in savings.• Planned and managed migration of 84 global Netware file and print servers (70 TBs) to Windows platform. This migration yielded a savings of $150K annually in licensing costs and stabilized the global file and print environment. • Worked closely with outsourced vendors supporting the due diligence process. Covered all aspects of the RDA global infrastructure. • Supported outsourcing of all Reader’s Digest global IT functions to HCL. Worked with HCL transition team to create and approve runbooks and SOPs for global processes and procedures.
