Steve is a nationally recognized business leader with over 25 years of engineering, maritime and workforce development experience. His patented technology (US patent US 2005/0006176 A and US 2004/0220860 A1) for self-checkout was instrumental in the early adoption of self-service concepts into international retail. His business accomplishments include; delivering augmented reality training products to military and private industry, successfully launching and monetizing three start-up companies and most recently holding C-level roles with two national manpower corporations. Steve’s extensive experience in marine, industrial and government sector programs has been a key driver of expansion and diversification for the organizations he has led. A two tour Navy combat veteran his service accomplishments include battlefield, air-sea (CSAR), mountain & desert rescue, receiving the Navy Achievement Medal for combat valor during Operation Desert Storm and distinguished service citations for participation in Operation Provide Comfort and the defense/provisioning of Kurdish wartime refugees. Steve was appointed by the Governor of Virginia to serve on the Workforce Development Board of Directors for Greater Hampton Roads, VA, is an Emeritus member of the American Equity Underwriters Advisory Board and has served as a research scientist for Florida Coastal Fisheries. Steve’s formal training in operational strategy, law, engineering and science combined with decades of progressive leadership accomplishments across a variety of sectors make him uniquely qualified to take on complex technological, mechanical and organizational challenges. A Dean’s list scholar at both the Florida Coastal School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate and the University of North Florida where he earned degrees in philosophy and biology, Steve is a frequent speaker and presenter at industry conferences and company retreats.
