Consulting Historical Architect/Architectural Historian

Responsible for planning, implementation, review, and analysis of operations, maintenance, repair, replacement and improvement of facilities, buildings and structures; including: heating and utility systems, grounds and landscaping. Ensures all site safety inspections are accomplished and reports are distributed. Provides guidance to Tribes and Agencies on environmental regulations, building standards and code compliance. Provided technical assistance to Tribes for facility self-determination contracts and grants. Performed periodic inspections of agency facilities and performance evaluations of facilities management programs.

Architect responsible for design and remodel of substation and radio communication facilities.

Taught AutoCAD and Structures spring term 2013, occasional substitute duties.

Serve as a Facilities Management Consultant in the AWSS (Agency-Wide Shared Services) organization. Broad responsibility and authority for accomplishing the implementation of real estate projects for the business units through use of project management processes and techniques. Depending upon the project assignment, provided technical advice, consultation, and assistance to management and senior REFM (Real Estate & Facilities Management) project managers on a wide range of project issues. Service provided impacted multiple IRS locations and organizations in addition to involving multiple business unit executives, union chapters, and GSA (General Services Administration) offices. Represented management for crossfunctional coordination among various managers in the assigned territory. Developed alternative approaches for management’s use in formulating procedures or space planning decisions; provide consistency in management practices across multiple business unit lines; and gained acceptance and cooperation of various managers. Responsible for preparing business case analyses and managing projects to resolve substantive problems or to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operating programs. Met the needs of various business unit managers within a collaborative environment.

Responsible for remodels and new residential projects, creation of historical cultural resources reports for properties in Seattle and other areas of Washington. Construction observation, administration, design development, schematic design, construction documents, programming, and code research.
