I ran a startup which offered a new approach to public opinion research through proprietary, ongoing data collection tools based on the Give/Get Principle rather than demanding something for nothing. We solved real problems for real people on an ongoing basis, and in turn learned about what was trending much more effectively and ethically than the surveys of yesteryear can ever hope to achieve.

I spearheaded efforts to modernize the admissions process by implementing automated technological solutions we developed in-house from the ground up.Leading these projects involved everything from gathering user stories to training staff on how to use the final products, which eliminated more than the equivalent labor of three full-time employees, improved data accuracy by 15% from 83% to 98% on average, and reduced delays in response time by 99% from the original six month time frame to same-day messaging.After modernizing the inputs I did the same to the outputs, collaborating with dozens of departments from individual academic programs to veterans affairs and more to create customized communication and outreach plans. Regular testing, analysis and minor course corrections increased program enrollments up to 11%, resulting in UVU rising to the status of largest public university in the State.This also involved managing a team which operated the mass communications systems and a new CRM.

I designed and engineered compact handheld laser products which packed a significant punch. Working with overseas vendors in China and Europe to source the materials and mass produce components, these devices saw global sales with a 40% profit margin until unanticipated regulatory changes invalidated the business model, forcing our closure.

I assisted with assorted brain research, from psychopharmacology to clinical brain disorders to memory. I also worked on a treatment for schizophrenia and mapping default mode networks.

I started as an intern and was brought on full time after 5 months. I solicited several contributions between $1k and $10k and successfully pushed for/implemented Blackbaud as a single SaaS vendor for all departments to eliminate data synchronization issues between the development and finance offices. I was promoted to Officer 1 year later.Primarily worked as the department's data analyst, during which time revenues tripled due to trend analysis and identification allowing for more properly focused efforts. Also performed donor research and managed two ongoing processes - gift receipting and low dollar gift thank yous.
