I have taught junior high band for four years in Minnesota. I taught elementary general music in Virginia. I taught 6th-8th grade band at two urban middle schools in Virginia. I'm currently teaching beginning 6th grade band and general music at two middle schools in Prior Lake-Savage Public Schools.My goal is to build a comprehensive band program at the middle level. This would include comprehensive teaching of jazz, music theory, composition, improvisation, world music and music history. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) and my graduate degree is from Vandercook College of Music in Chicago.
