Responsible for day to day machine shop duties which include prioritizing of work orders through the shop to meet needs of the production plant.•Interaction and working with Federal’s engineering associates on new tooling design & tooling improvements through experimental parts & monitoring the effectiveness of the changes to help with ECO changes.•Interaction and working with Federal’s maintenance associates to help trouble shoot, rebuild & repair machines by making & repairing any tooling/machine parts that may be needed.•Interaction with Rimfire / Centerfire / Shot shell tool crib associates to help monitor tooling stock issues.•Interaction with outside vendors for outsourcing work by achieving quotes that have the best price, service, capabilities that best fit our needs such as; plating, wire cut edm’s, extrude hone, gear hobbing companies, heat treat companies.•Organize and coordinate all internal machine repairs with outside vendors for all of the machinery in the machine shop.•Work with tooling inspection when there are issues that may arise such as rework tooling from outside vendors that may not have passed inspection to keep production up and running.•Work with drafting daily to review which tooling stays in house or gets sent out to outside vendors based on capacity, quantities, cost effective tooling, and current quantities on hand.•Attend tier 2 meetings daily with the Centerfire associates.•Schedule/Coordinate machine shop associates to work OT for special projects or issues that require immediate repair/attention to help keep production floor running efficiently.•Continually looking for ways to rework existing tooling such as:•Collets: Found a way to re-polish collets for the JIT lines which since December of 2011 has proven to be a savings of roughly $30,000.
