On completion of my carpentry apprenticeship I ran my own small construction business for approx 8 years after which I joined Epoca Construction working on the Yeppoon Water Treatment Plant and the Sewerage Treatment Plant upgrade. Following that I obtained employment with JM Kelly Builders in 1989 as a leading hand carpenter and quickly progressed to site manager. I continued working for JM Kelly Builder for almost 30 years on a wide range of multi million dollar projects as Site Manager and occasional periods as a Project Manager. The type of projects I was fortunate enough to undertake included multi storey apartments, hospitals, heritage listed buildings, schools, nursing homes, shopping centers, rail facilities and hotels to name a few.During my time with JM Kelly I successfully complete courses in demolition, A class asbestos removal, cert iv in safety, diploma in project management, fire warden and first-aid. I was also heavily involved in the company roll out of the site based computer and job monitoring systems.I was also the nominee for JM Kellys demolition and asbestos removal licences.I have a proven ability to collaborate with project subcontractors to keep all project phases on schedule. Strong leadership skills, motivating team members through personal dedication to quality, constructive dialogue, and an uncompromising work ethic.The most rewarding project I have undertaken to date was the $70m Stockland Rockhampton Redevelopment which included construction of a shopping mall bridge across the environmentally sensitive Moores Creek. This project was competed on time and under budget.
