Former adventure sports professional.I am a director of 'Kendal Mountain Events' including the globally repsected 'Kendal Mountain Festival' – the world’s premier gathering for outdoor adventurers, filmmakers & enthusiasts. Our company delivers UK and Overseas Tours, an online channel - The Kendal Mountain Player and the annual Festival each November attracting tens of thousands of followers and visitors.A trained designer specialising in brand development and content, I have worked and consulted for over 20 years with many reputable outdoor brands such as Lyon (Edel & Petzl), Salomon, The North Face and Mountain Hardwear plus many wider public and private sector organisations. Growing up in the Lake District, I relentlessly pursued a career in adventure sports — A former ski racer, professional ski teacher, national trainer and subsequently a high level coach, an accomplished professional paraglider pilot and a serious mountain biker. I lived in the French Alps for over 10 years which saw me develop an anglo/french adventure sports school which covered snowsports, paragliding and climbing. My career took me to Norway for 3 years where I coached skiing and also worked for the US publishing giant McGraw-Hill.I was a former visiting lecturer and student mentor on design and design theory at Kendal College of further education. I was a trustee for the Spirit of Adventure Foundation – promoting Self-reliant expeditions and adventures for all young people.
