I am an RCEM Credentialed Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) working as a locum in Emergency Departments in the UK as well as delivering medical education / first responder and first aid training for both my own, and other training organisations and more specifically the maritime industry. I am a paramedic independent prescriber and I'm very proud to have credentialed with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine in May 2021.In addition to developing my clinical practice over the last 18 years from paramedic through to my current role as an ACP I am fortunate enough to have had opportunity to provide medical support to events and expeditions which adds another challenging dimension to clinical practice. In the course of my career spanning both prehospital and in hospital work , I have delivered medical support for a wide range of events from endurance events to tv and film work and pride myself in being flexible adaptable and most of all a solid asset to any crew. I have an interest in endurance sport and have competed in multiple Ironman and ultramarathon events. I enjoy the mental elements of endurance sport and am frequently looking for ways to challenge myself at the same time as setting an example to my kids to pursue the unknown to see what is possible. I am a Paraglider pilot and trainee instructor, I am keen winter sportsman and enjoy everything between cross country skiing and back country powder snowboarding. I am a former ambulance service Paramedic, Emergency Care Practitioner (specialist Paramedic), and clinical tutor within SWASFT and Bournemouth University. Within my roles as tutor / lecturer i have a passion for delivering training and I get a great deal of satisfaction from delivering high quality training with realistic and technically accurate simulation. I’m also a former soldier but so long ago now I’ve forgotten what I did but it’s written down somewhere if you’re interested. 😀
