I have gained all competencies to operate every system at Sizewell B power station. Work involves working to procedures of continuous use, working to surveillance test procedures and risk of trip turbine testing.First line maintenance is also part of my role so when a piece of plant is not working satisfactory, I will perform an investigation as to what the fault is. This could be instrumentation, control or a mechanical fault and use passport to detail fault investigation.I am also an Authorised person under the safety rules so I can apply isolations for other work groups to work within, working to isolation checklists from the passport system.I am a member of the emergency response team, which means we have to deal with fire, chemical and nuclear incident should they occur. My role is mostly lone working, so if I find a fault with a piece of plant or apparatus, its then my responsibility to rectify fault and progress the process.

Served an apprenticeship in Control, Instrumentation and Light electrical. Calibrating, repairing and installing Instrumentation. Setting up Pneumatic, Hydraulic and electrical actuators. Fault finding on control circuits and switchgear.

Serviced and repaired motorcycles from mopeds right through to sports bikes.Also got involved in recall work on bikes that were yet to be distributed from the manufacturer.

Serviced and repaired small plant from concrete mixers through to mini diggers. Also completed an NVQ level 2 in construction Plant Maintenance and Repair
