At that point in time, 148 states have signed the Statute of the Agency.Mandated by these governments worldwide, IRENA aspires to become the main driving force for promoting a rapid transition towards the widespread and sustainable use of renewable energy on a global scale.Seconded to IRENA through the UAE government and my involvement with Masdar, my HR colleagues and I were tasked with the responsibility on setting up a functional HR framework for the organisation. My particular remit was to design and implement a permanent recruitment process which will enable us to meet the strategic objectives of the organisation.Leading the recruitment function, I helped grow the organisation from 5 employees to nearly 60 achieving the Interim Director General's aim of gender parity and being the first international agecny of its type to achieve this.

All these activities and a range of other Initiatives are aimed at laying the groundwork for vital and sustainable new industries. I previously led recruitment of the Masdar City development project and the Asset Management and Utilities Unit.
