A major project in South Korea for Pohang Iron & Steel, where I was the Project Manager for British Federal, was to design, manufacture, install and commission an in-line coil joining resistance seam welder, for a continuous coil processing line. Due to the risk involved with the installation phase, I was tasked to manage the installation & commissioning with a team of 11 engineers. This was a challenging project as the line could only be shut down for 11 days and any problems had to be rectified by myself and my team on site within this period.
Solihull
One of the largest projects I was involved with was the Land Rover Discovery Body-In-White production line circa £24M. This was while I was with Lamb Technicon as a Project Engineer for the Design, Build and Installation of the automated car-line at the Solihull branch of Land Rover. I was also utilised as the Welding Engineer for any welding related problems that arose.

Dudley, United Kingdom
During this period I Project Managed numerous projects all over the UK and abroad. I worked in the Automotive, Rail, MOD & Packaging industries working on projects up to £1m. I reported to the Board of Directors on a weekly basis submitting a summary of all the Projects I was responsible for along with any further technical details they required. I was also tasked with implementing a Sales Order Processing computer system into the business and producing a tender package for a Laser Welding R&D contract.

During my career I have been at the forefront of product development, successfully taking prototype components through to production for many of the companies in the UK and across the world. During my period in the R&D laboratory at British Federal I was involved with hundreds of new pre-production components from clients. My duty was to evaluate the tooling and machinery required to manufacture the assemblies supplied, produce prototype tooling and samples, run pre-production samples and provide written reports for the Sales department to quote the eventual machinery & tooling for production. The majority of the components required Resistance Welding but we also devised the tooling and parameters for MIG & TIG products (all automatic or robotic applications)I have also run training courses at British Federal teaching Resistance Welding to customers both in-house and across the UK at clients’ factories.
