Responsibility for leading the quality team to drive quality performance and improvement across Subsea Controls products & projects. Co-ordination across all functions and sites to ensure satisfaction of customer requirements, development of organisational process as well as minimisation of defects and cost of quality, etc. This role is part of the GE Oil & Gas Production Control Systems leadership team and is responsible for the quality of the PCS products, processes and project execution.

Set up the Subsea Controls Research and Development department with a team of electrical, mechanical and software engineers. Grew the team to around 15 people to develop next generation electronics and software products for the Subsea Controls business. Responsibility for managing the company Patents portfolio and Patents process

Leadership responsibility within the Electrical Engineering department, including:• Mentoring and appraisals of Engineers within the department• Technical ownership of electrical products and project deliverables• Generation of Cost, Time, Resource estimates for product developments• Reporting to management regarding Electrical Engineering activities

Senior responsibility within the Electrical Engineering department, including:• Mentoring of junior Engineers• Technical ownership of SEM2K products and project deliverables• Generation of Cost, Time, Resource estimates for product developments• Involvement with system design and specifications• Generation of new product ideas

Responsible for the design and development of several Printed Circuit Boards for the SEM2K generation of Subsea Electronics Module. Setting up and management of the company standard schematic and PCB component libraries and parts database for the ‘Protel’ PCB development software. Produce overall configurations of SEM designs for project specific applications.

Continued “Fourth Generation” Subsea Electronics Module developments undertaken during Industrial Placement year. Also took responsibility for the specification, design and development of further generations of SEM products and sub-assemblies (Troll Pilot “Advant” SEM and Snorre B SEM).

Industrial placement as part of my 4 year BEng (Hons) degree. Part of the “Fourth Generation” Subsea Electronics Module development team with responsibility for designing and prototyping power supply circuits, test equipment and developing procedures.
