    In my role as Technical Solutions Manager with the Circle Neurovascular Imaging group I was part of the senior leadership team responsible for transforming a novel concept in stroke imaging into a marketable software solution for improving patient outcomes. I worked with our internal development team, our clinical and IT users, as well as our OEM partners to ensure optimal performance of Circle NVI products from design to deployment through to ongoing support.Key accomplishments in this role were:- Lead strategy discussions focused on product delivery, governance, and overall corporate goal setting to bring a novel medical software device to market. - Created and lead the technical solutions team including recruiting team members, and defining team deliverables, and designing issue triage and tracking systems.- Provided architectural guidance to defining non-functional requirements to ensure that the product would meet healthcare standards for systems integration and information security.- Collaborated with Circle NVI leadership and our regulatory team to obtain global regulatory clearances for multiple software modules, while assuming specific responsibility for product cybersecurity oversight.- Actively engaged customer IT and clinical professionals during the pre and post sales process to understand site infrastructure/architecture, advise IT professionals on optimal installation configurations, and clearly communicate expectations on performance and support to clinical end-users.

    As manager of the IT group for the Stroke research department at FNUSA ICRC we developed several ongoing European initiatives in implementation research and data science. My role in the research group is outlined below.· Manage the deployment and ongoing development of a European registry for measuring stroke quality of care ( www.qualityregistry.eu ). The registry manages data for over 1200 hospitals in more than 60 countries, and currently houses over 180,000 patient records. It is built on a highly customized version of the OpenClinica platform. · Responsible for the design, development, and deployment of a medical image repository and web interface in cooperation with the SITS registry. The system is based on XNAT, RSNA CTP, and Tatramed’s TomoCon PACS.· Plan and implement the computerized systems validation process to allow RES-Q to move to a Platform-as-a-Service model for providing registry-based clinical trial management for local and international research groups.· Work directly with both external research groups, and private industry to advance and support public health initiatives; these have included the QASC project based at the Australian Catholic University, and the Angels Initiative supported by Boehringer-Ingelheim. · Coordinate hiring and directly manage personnel required to bring these projects to the deployment phase; built the stroke IT group from a single person, to a current team of six.· Prepared system specifications and resource requirements for high availability web servers, redundant storage arrays, and high performance image processing workstations.· Planned, wrote, and submitted numerous multi-million euro European Commission and Czech national research grant proposals in collaboration with top-tier research institutes from Europe and North America.

    As IT Implementer for the Seaman Family MR Research Centre I had the opportunity to design and deploy IT infrastructure for medical imaging and clinical trial management, as well as to assist in the development of an entirely new business group. My group identified a need for efficient management of multi-site clinical trials and expanded to fill that need, eventually creating the Calgary Image Processing and Analysis Centre ( CIPAC, www.calgaryimageanalysis.ca ). My role in both IT operations, and the development of the business group is outlined below.- Responsible for planning, deployment, testing, and maintenance of all IT hardware and software for the Seaman Family MR Research Centre, the Canadian Atherosclerosis Imaging Network(CAIN), and the Calgary Image Processing and Analysis Centre(CIPAC)- Installed, configured, and maintained several high availability server and storage arrays for managing DICOM medical imaging data, these were comprised of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 & 6, Centos, and Windows Server 2008 R2 servers, with VMWare virtualization management, and an Intelerad PACS.- Developed and deployed data transfer solutions for remote image collection and consolidation, including XNAT and HeartIT WebPAX web applications, as well as an SFTP implementation.- Developed software extensions using Java, DCM4CHE, and DCMTK to facilitate the transfer and management of DICOM data.- Managed multiple databases to support both CIPAC software applications, and CIPAC management functions, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Filemaker databases.- Provided business analysis expertise to expand the IT services of my group from a single funded project (CAIN) to a cost-recovery based IT services provider(CIPAC) serving multiple projects for both internal and external research groups.- Environment: RHEL 5 & 6, Centos, Ubuntu, OSX 10.6-10.9, Windows Server 2008
