Experienced and adept in many areas of both visual and performing arts, including photography, multi-media presentation, writing, acting, directing and all aspects of technical theatre. As a photographer and fine artist, has had multiple solo, group and mixed-media exhibitions in both NYC and New Orleans. Received training at the International Center of Photography in New York, while honing skills as a street and travel photographer. Still works actively in the analog medium, developing and printing in his studio darkroom, while continuing to work primarily in the digital medium, including advanced skills as an editor in Lightroom and Photoshop. Also enjoys incorporating alternative methods into the creative process, including instant photography, non-camera processes and experimentation with vintage photo-making devices, and has exploited both traditional and mixed-media presentation of his work. As a writer, his experience is primarily as a playwright, but has done work as a journalist and a feature blog writer. Received training at Fullerton College and San Francisco State University with a minor in English. His several plays have received production in Los Angeles, Orange County, New York City and Austin. Co-founder and producer for the independent theatre company "Revolving Door Productions" from 1992-1997. As an actor, trained at both FC and SFSU, as well as the Michael Howard Studios and multiple independent workshops in NYC. Skills include working with dialects and the language of Shakespeare, including First Folio Technique. Experienced in all manner of stage combat and fencing. His acting technique is a synthesis of teachings centered on voice, movement and improv. Has appeared on stages both Off and Off-Off Broadway, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County, New Orleans, Prague and Edinburgh, as well as a modest resume in film and television. Has extensive experience as a stage director. Incorporates the teachings of Kristin Linklater, Patsy Rodenberg and Michael Chekhov to promote a foundational character in actors that is rooted in voice and movement. In addition to directing, has worked as a stage manager and all aspects of technical theatre, including Lighting Design, Set Design and Sound Design. Skills and interests outside the realm of the arts include extensive experience as a bartender and more than 40 years working in the hospitality industry; gardening, cooking, hiking, kayaking, singing and playing the guitar with friends.
