    Consulting design and development: Design research, competitive product analysis, design strategy, branding, product design, transportation design, visual communications. Clients include: Alamo Pharmaceuticals, Alltrade Tools, DSA Phototech, ExploraToy, Gary Mandel Promotional Concepts, JD Corporation, Pyramat, Razor USA, Relaxor, Rubbermaid, SMS Display Group, TIKI Corp., TranzX, Wilmar Corporation.• Designed and developed a new category line of motorized electric scooters (e-100, e-200, e-300) for Razor USA, incorporating a unified brand appearance with a refined consumer product appeal, setting them above and apart from other motorized scooters in their class. The “e-Scooters” were so successful they inspired the design and development of additional motorized electric vehicles: motorcycles, go-karts, ATV’s, and skateboards. Continued on to design a multitude of additional Razor action sports products with a unified “family look” and defined what would become known as “The Razor Look”.• Incorporated the Industrial Design process into the Product Development process at Alltrade Tools, and provided conceptual design direction of hand tools, mechanics tools, compressors, pressure washers, toolboxes and storage systems. Successfully improved the form, function and ergonomics of products and strived to maintain design integrity throughout the development process.• Managed the design and development of a new category line of candle products for TIKI Corporation. Famous for their Tiki torches, they contracted me to develop an entire line of Pillar, Jar, Votive, and Tea light candles. Starting with research and a complete competitive product analysis, led the program from conception to finished product, including packaging, resulting in an exquisite, cohesive product line, with an innovative packaging solution.

    Leader of Industrial Design and technical development of new and existing products, electronic learning aids, educational toys and games, electronic devices, and preschool toys. Concept design, sketching, 2D digital rendering, 3D digital solid modeling, mock-ups, pattern and model making, structural packaging design and die line production drawings.• Designed and developed the company’s second generation of electronic learning aids (ELA’s) from concept to high volume production. Spearheading the conceptual design of these devices, intended for skill building in language, history, science and mathematics, introduced a new soft, organic look and feel to the products, keeping the company in the forefront of design in the booming market of electronic learning aids.• Worked closely with the company’s chief conceptual toy and game developers concepting construction sets, exploration and discovery toys, outdoor activity play sets, and strategy games. Developed sketches, color renderings, mock-ups, prototypes, and 3D solid computer models and photo-realistic renderings for internal company meetings and sales meeting presentations.• Managed the structural packaging design for consumer hard goods products. Produced sample package designs in corrugated, vacuum formed plastics, clamshells, and produced die line production drawings. Initiated the use of computer aided design for use in the company’s packaging development process.

Led and coordinated the efforts of Industrial designers, engineers, model makers, and outside vendors, while participating in the development with a hands-on approach.• Senior design leader on a large-scale project for the design and development of a line of commercial grade exercise bikes for the Star Trec Company. Developing both an upright and recumbent version simultaneously, coordinated and participated in the initial concept generation through to final working prototypes.• Designed, developed, and prototyped a home theatre audio system for Infinity Audio, and consisting of speaker columns, center channel speaker, and surround speakers. Led the project from initial concept sketches to finished prototype, meeting an extremely tight deadline to have prototypes available for photography and trade show.

Conceptual sketching, 2D rendering, 2D conventional and digital drafting, 3D mock-ups, model making, project management, mentoring junior designer and interns, managing model shop projects.• Successfully designed and developed numerous office products: desk accessories, paper management, filing systems, storage systems, waste and recycling systems, and wall mounted office accessories. Under the direction of the VP of product development, and as a member of a product development team, conducted extensive research and competitive product analysis, and led the design development from initial concept through to final production.• Designed and developed a line of low cost, high value, injection molded desk accessories for mass market retailers. With a high volume of sales projected, it was a requirement to keep tooling costs low, as well as use a minimal amount of plastic. The result was a line of elegant Art Deco themed pieces, with a light, airy openness to the design, in order to minimize the use of plastic.
