As CEO of Aluvia Photonics, I lead a dynamic team dedicated to advancing our pioneering work in aluminium oxide-based photonic integrated circuits (PICs). Responsible for defining and implementing the technology and product development roadmap for the company. Lead the internal technical innovation activities and technical team. Establish partnerships with external technology providers and manufacturers to realize the vision for Pulsify's product roadmap. In collaboration with the CEO, define the roadmap and objectives for implementing the strategy for the venture.In this role I have established an highly skilled and motivated technical team to work on our very innovative product. I have lead this team to achieve very successfull First-On-Human clinical trials of an early stage technology demonstrator. Our results were benchmarked with respect to metrics extracted by a high-end ultrasound tool and was proven to give good correlation. Additionally I have established a supply chain for sensor fabrication in Asia and as a company we are transferring the proof-of-concept process flow established at imec to an industrial fab in Asia, with excellent results.

Research & development of Gallium-Nitride (GaN), switching power devices. The activities during this period included:Design, modelling and layout of GaN power devices. Automating the floor planning for increasing productivity and decreased lead times for designing test chips.Lead characterization activities for functional analysis of power GaN devices. Develop characterization procedures and measurement techniques for evaluating large area GaN power devices & standardize reporting. Automate the characterization tools for increased productivity and throughput.Follow up projects with European and Flemish partners, help write proposals and calculate budgets. Take on responsibilities as overall project lead and workpackage leader. Definition of a roadmap for integrated power and power efficiency together with European partners.Investigate the reliability and physics of the GaN materials and devices, work closely together with the p-GaN process integration engineers to implement process improvements and increase the overall reliability and yield of the process.Define PhD topics, interview and select candidates and follow up the work of the students.

Research topic: CMOS compatible microelectromechanical resonators.Modelling and design of various resonator topologies.Process integration, creating a cmos compatible processflow, short loop tests for fabrication and final fabrication of devices in a SiGe MEMS platform.Characterization/Testing: Electrical and optical characterization of processed micromechanical structures.
