My job was to understand a client’s financial needs and match them to the right financial product, before securing the sale, as well as finding opportunities for cross-selling and referrals to other key product areas such as mortgages. My main role was in managing the youth work of a large Anglican church of 800 people. This meant managing a group of 30 volunteers who provided 9 different youth groups for over 100 teenagers, including youth clubs and work in local schools. I was also involved in project work, including development and implementation of schemes such as work on a local housing estate, and taking a team of 20 young people to Gambia, West Africa. This was a greatly varied role in which I developed many skills including people management, administration, advertising, communication, decision making and an ability to think quick in changing and sometimes challenging situations.
