I have been fortunate to enjoy a longstanding and ongoing career in traditional musical theater performance, direction, producing, and writing, and have, since my early days in New York, been able to take that solid foundation and create pieces that place and make the audience central in/to the action of the theatrical event. What we once called "environmental" theater is now called "immersive", and whatever you would like to name it, that's the crux of what I do as a creator, manager, and storyteller. In theater-adjacent work, I have been a guest lecturer (on “A Christmas Carol”) at Brooklyn College and my essay, "Journey On," on how the AIDS crisis impacted the development of the American Musical, was published in the trade journal “Musical Theater Today”.I live in Denver, grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, hold a BFA in Musical Theater from Syracuse University, and lived and worked in New York from the fall of 2000 to the summer of 2024.
