I once joked that if the opportunity ever came along to buy Birthday In A Box I would, as it is a great business run by an amazing team of people. I never anticipated it becoming reality.

Airline Intelligence is a venture I invested in. AIS was a private venture which just went public. They are building very unique, supremely powerful, software for the airline industry. I ultimately became involved in assisting AIS with their customer integration/deployment efforts in Latin America and their development operation in Kirkland, WA.

Toronto, Canada Area

Hired by the Sr management team to assist in maturing their technology infrastructure, including hardware platforms, financial systems, site performance monitoring, as well as technology due diligence on 4 acquisitions.

Hired by the Sr Management team to assist with key strategic software development projects in Canada and the UK.

Founder of Corelan Communications; a consulting firm that serviced the financial sector with custom software development and transaction systems. The company was instrumental in building the team that created FundSERV, the national Canadian mutual fund transaction and clearing network. While Corelan was low key in its approach, it created compelling.

Hired to support the implementation of complex network solutions, including NSC hyperChannel technology that linked a number of Cray and NEC super computer systems together. The Scientific Computing arena was a great place to learn! Spent a year working in this very intriguing arena often called "the lunatic fringe of computing".

Worked in the communications group within Corporate IT. Assisted in the design and deployment of the company's first national wide area network supporting 700 systems across Canada. Assisted in the deployment of many Vaxen and other departmental processors to support the transformation of the company's IT strategy. Was a joy to work with a visionary CIO.
