As General Counsel I am responsible for all legal matters across the ten countries in which MaplesFS operates. I oversee and manage the legal team and the legal budget. My duties include supervising regulatory compliance and coordinating with regulators in six countries, including the United States, monitoring and reviewing laws and regulations in numerous jurisdictions to ensure operational compliance, and defining and drafting corporate policies and procedures for all level of operation and corporate conduct. I am responsible for drafting and negotiating all documents entered into by MaplesFS, and for overseeing the launch of new business lines and the opening of new offices globally. I also provide strategic advice and legal support to Chairman and CEO in connection with expansion and business tactics, including acquisitions and joint ventures.

Working in the investment funds group of Maples and Calder, the top-ranked offshore law firm, I advised on all aspects of hedge fund and private equity fund formation and operation. In addition to entity formation and on-going corporate governance and operational issues, I advised on regulatory compliance under the Cayman Islands' Mutual Funds Law, Securities Investment Business Law and anti-money laundering regulations. I Advised clients on complex structures, and drafted and negotiated all documentation, from basic formation documents (including investment management agreements, offering documents, subscription documents and indentures) to documents for complex financing transactions. I also served on legislative sub-committee to draft limited liability company law in the Cayman Islands.After two years with Maples and Calder, I was promoted to the position of General Counsel of MaplesFS, a subsidiary of Maples and Calder which offers global investment fund administration and fiduciary services.

During a sabbatical from the practice of law, I focused on achieving leadership related goals through teaching scuba diving. I am a PADI certified Master Scuba Diver Trainer, a certified CPR/First-Aid instructor, and an Emergency First Responder. Leadership and excellent communication skills, and a focus on client service, are essential for success in this position.

As a senior associate in the corporate finance/structured finance practice group, I was the lead attorney on numerous, high-profile securitizations and structured finance transactions, and managed a team of junior associates. I was responsible for all aspects of general corporate, CLO/CDO, secured lending and securitization transactions from structuring to closing. In addition to drafting and negotiating all documents, legal opinions, offering documents and legal memoranda, I advised clients on numerous regulatory issues.
