Served with the 1st Cav in the US Army in Vietnam '68-'69 as a platoon leader and acting company commander. After leaving the service I became a banker ( 5 years) , then worked for the SBA ( 3 years) then co-founded a publishing company that provided management information for small businesses ( 10 years)Started White & Company in 1980 to provide small business marketing programs and materials, mainly to banks targeting small business. In the past 10 years have expanded into supporting veteran entrepreneurship. In July of 2011 I was asked to become the Exec Director of Veterans Across America and did so with the intent of bringing entrepreneurship to the existing employment program. Non-profits are a unique bunch and begging for dollars from foundations instead of selling products or services is not my thing. In January or 2012 I decided to refocus my energies on finishing and publishing Basics for Veterans, our on line publication designed to assist veterans, especially transitioning troops, to start or restart their business or find employment.
