About Steve Whiteside

I am a motivated, adaptable and responsible individual with strong team-player skills developed during fifteen years with Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue. I have been an operational Watch Manager for 7 years, initially at the largest station in Berkshire managing 15 personnel and four appliances and now at Caversham Road who are Water and Animal Rescue specialists. In addition I am a brigade Breathing Apparatus and Compartment Fire Behaviour Training Instructor. I am always seeking to achieve excellence and strive for perfection; I approach problem solving with a clear, logical mind and a drive to see things through to completion. I am a Brigade assessor at A1 level and also have the following qualifications: BTEC level 5 Professional awards in Interactive Management, Institute of Leadership & Management Level 2 (Silver Commander) and Water Rescue Technician Level 3, Animal Rescue Level 2.
