Having recently joined Camphill Devon I am impressed by the passion and commitment of the team and the amazing opportunities provided to people through this life-sharing model of care and support. I am looking forward to working with everyone involved to further develop the provision.

For a six month period I adopted the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer in the interim of a permanent appointment. This proved to be an interesting and demanding remit, particularly within the landscape in which SHC currently operates. Whilst leading the organisation through its exciting period of consolidation and quality development I maintained my responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer, and have now returned to this role following the CEO appointment.

Sussex Health Care aims to be the leading provider of residential and nursing care in the Sussex area. Central to this objective is a determination to provide the highest quality of care based on the needs of the individual and delivered by a first-class professional team.

• Development of service provision to improve quality & CQC ratings• Establishment and development of stakeholder relationships to influence future commissioning• Investment and coaching staff competency and bench strength to inform performance and succession planning

As Operations Director my responsibilities included ensuring quality care and support is provided to approx. 400 people with learning disabilities and other support needs. This was achieved through teams totalling 500 staff and approximately 15, 000 hours provision each week. Our provision included a range of supported living services, registered care homes as well as a large number of home care packages. Success factors are trusted leadership, person centred care and support, high standards, and an effective QA system. I have recently led the organisation to recent successes of Outstanding ratings with CQC within both supported living and residential care provision resulting in an excellent culture for recruitment, retention and referrals.My remit also included the management of referrals, quality assurance, health and safety and safeguarding; each of which enjoyed high level success and stakeholder satisfaction.

As Operations Director of this specialist provider of care and support to people with epilepsy my primary responsibility was to ensure effective leadership of all 24/7 service provision within registered care homes, supported living and community based support. Throughout my role I acheived 100% compliance with the regulator, including several excellent ratings. As part of the Executive team I supported business growth which accelerated significantly increasing turnover through the opening of several new services. Quality support is key in all aspects of people's lives, and with a remit to ensure effective property managment and act as safeguarding lead all contributed to a positive and holistic experience.

As Head of Student Services I was responsible for RNIB's residential provision at this specialist college. In addition, the remit extended to a range of registered care and supported living provision within the community. This was an exciting role due to the challenging linkage between dual regulation and my responsibility to establish synergy between Ofsted and CQC's inspectorate at the college. I supported the team to excel in this area seeing a transformation of low ratings to those with the highest accolade.
