After thirty-eight years in information technologies, I still find IT fascinating. The changes I’ve seen can make your head spin. It seems like only yesterday I was programming missile guidance telemetry on Martin Marietta mainframes. I thought binary was the coolest language. Fast forward thirty-eight years and I’m fluent in several computer languages.I didn’t really start my business—it sort-of started me. Years ago, long before the Internet, Google, and tech-support help desks, there was Steve. “Yeah, call Steve. He’ll know how to fix it,” was the go-to phrase for friends and family that fueled my journey down the path to Geekville.In the mid-90s, I was fascinated with emerging CGI technologies, and taught myself 3-D vector model programming and raytracing. I have a tribute to those years on my website called Vintage Vivid.From 2000 to 2010, I ran business and residential service calls throughout the Central Florida area.In 2010, I recognized the growing trend to smaller, portable devices and knew the house-call service model was going to dry up. So, I redesigned my business into what it is today, a one-stop business website design, building, hosting, support, and marketing service build on the Joomla content management system.Besides IT, I’m a writer, whose first book was published in 2016 and I expect my second book to reach publication by 2019. I am also a teacher at a local college where I earned a doctorate in theology.In my off time, I play classic American folk music with other “folkies” at open-mics and public events.
