Over thirty five years of energy project development experience as a corporate executive and consultant on wind, solar, biomass, hydro-electric and natural gas fired power plants and on electric and gas transmission lines. These development projects have resulted in over $4 billion of investment in clean new energy infrastructure. International project work from Canada to China and from Europe to Africa in greenfield development as lead project developer, prospector, JDA partnership manager, landman/real estate, community relations, government relations, permitting, tax and environmental conservation negotiation. Thirty years of continuous project engagement in Sub-Saharan Africa on a wide-range of energy and water infrastructure, ecosystem conservation, and academic research. Earned my Ph.D. and published a hard covered book based on my research in remote rain forest and grasslands villages in Central Africa. The research and book examined the nexus of local human development aspirations and Western sponsored biodiversity preservation in threatened ecosystems.Lifelong commitment to environmental conservation includes time as a board member of a regional branch of the Nature Conservancy, as a founding member of a land trust, on the board of a (US) national scenic trail and ten years on the board of the Cameroon Mountains Conservation Foundation in Cameroon.Since 2016, General Manager, Africa for Upepo Energy Partners responsible for completing the development of a 200MW wind farm and a 45MW solar farm in Singida, Tanzania. Originated and lead development on a 200MW wind/solar/battery storage project in Zambia. Prospecting and initiating the development of a portfolio of wind and solar farms in East and Southern Africa. Over a quarter of a century of diverse activities in Africa allow me to comfortably work across tribal and national boundaries to develop infrastructure projects.
