Recruited to manage a client list representing over $1M of gross annual billings, reporting to 6 partners. Utilized excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide leadership to my colleagues, while consistently delivering a superior product under tight deadlines with conflicting schedules.Championed a project in which I issued 73 Notice to Reader engagements in a related group, with corresponding tax returns within 13 days of obtaining the source documentation from the clients. This included coordinating and leading a revolving team of approximately 10-15 staff reporting to me.Demonstrated a comprehensive understanding for full cycle accounting, budgeting, systems design and implementation, cash flow management, and financial reporting through a three month engagement as an interim Controller/Chief Financial Officer. The client was the largest in their field in the health care industry, with over 100 locations across the province.

Part time business, providing offsite bookkeeping services and compliance reporting (HST, Payroll, Audit Support) to owner managed businesses and proprietors.Through use of my personal network and referrals, I grew the business significantly, providing quality, timely service at reasonable rates.The business was ultimately closed, with my clients being carefully referred to various contacts of mine to respect the requirements for the EY position.

Recruited to assume the responsibilities and capacity of two ex-partners of a predecessor firm. Was attracted to a potential partnership opportunity.Demonstrated my work ethic and interpersonal skills, obtaining 15 new clients in the first three months employment. This while improving processes to reduce the firm’s accounts receivable by over 80%, training/mentoring staff on how to use Caseware, Profile, professional and firm standards for file preparation.Represented the firm professionally at many business and social functions, including presenting at many Annual General Meetings for audit clients.

Recruited to replace two senior staff accountants. Assigned a client list consisting of many of the firm’s larger and more complicated clients, utilizing my superior tax knowledge, client relations, and analytical skills.Demonstrated initiative by writing an employee handbook for the preparation of corporate tax returns, and the development and implementation firm-wide standards in a multi-office environment. This included determination of best practices, integration into a standard format, & implementation through presentation of my results to all staff, including the 9 partners.

Hired as a CA student where I completed my articling, obtaining my Chartered Accountant designation in 2006. Continually working under tight deadlines, I developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills, & the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
