We are backed by some of the Valley's top tier venture capital firms including SoftTech VC, Crosslink Capital, and e.ventures.I initially oversaw all web and backend API development for our innovative on-demand medical service. This included features like: appointment routing optimization, inventory and procedure pricing management systems, voice and sms proxy services, provider scheduling systems (internal and patient facing), HIPAA compliance, insurance verification, and EHR integration. In June of 2016, I became the organization’s CTO and assumed all client facing mobile development responsibilities.

Breathometer is a pioneer in breath analysis technology building the world’s first portable breath analysis platform to help people make smarter decisions and improve their lives. I oversaw all software development for three hardware platforms (Breeze, Mint, and Burn). My team covered iOS, Android, and Rails disciplines and delivered a rich user experience on top of an innovative range or hardware devices. I also led the initial product development for Mint and Burn involving user and behavioral research teams to deliver a personalized tracking and goal setting program for Mint’s anaerobic bacteria detection capabilities.

Motivate is a mobile app that builds healthy habits through an innovative mix of social and financial incentives in which players’ fitness data seamlessly contributes towards their weekly fitness goal against others for a cash pot. • Managed a small team of geographically dispersed developers across various programming disciplines of Objective-C, Django, and Sencha Touch, while writing more than 70% of the entire stack’s code base.• Built a high-performance native iOS and mobile web app that allowed users to efficiently track user steps, engage with friends via a social feed, invite new friends from various social platforms, and manage payment sources with a friendly, resolution agnostic and hardware accelerated interface. This unique formula of UI and game mechanics achieved a 40% 30-day retention (4x the industry average). • The native app was built using PhoneGap & Sencha Touch HTML5 wrapper due to its ability to rapidly deploy iOS, Android, and mobile web platforms with minimal infrastructure overhead to prove the product concept. Custom Objective-C plugins were developed for HealthKit and CoreMotion (M7) step tracking, and integrated 3rd party plugins for Push Notifications with deep linking, credit card payments through Balanced, Facebook authentication, and social sharing. • The app’s backend was built with Python/Django on a heavily modified TastyPie API that sat on a cluster of auto-scaled AWS EC2 (Ubuntu/Apache/WSGI) instances and a read replicated RDS MySQL database.• Wrote a fitness data aggregation engine across 3rd party fitness services (OAuth/OAuth2 for Fitbit, Moves, CoreMotion, etc.) that supports burst aggregation and subscription end-points that tracked over 1.5 billion steps.

Kwiry.com is a venture funded mobile SMS bookmarking service (in a pre-smartphone world) with partnerships including TiVo, Ford, Razorfish, and Scripps Networks. Sold in 2009. • Series A from Hummer Winblad.• Launched first product iteration in 6 weeks and received Series A in less than 5 months. This included integration with an SMS aggregator, services for "text-to-tasks" for: add to calendar, add to Netflix queue, add to Amazon wish list, add to TiVo, and media content pages.• Led the overall design vision and front-end engineering effort for Kwiry’s offline to online workflow. Text code tags were discoverable in offline mediums of print and television and texted for more content to your inbox or 3rd party services. This was a new user behavior that required a dashboard for managing discovered codes, custom-landing pages for content partnerships, and business development product marketing. • Managed brand development through an outsourced design and marketing team to create a unique and recognizable SMS call to action.
