Prepress/Digital PrintUse all major graphics applications to produce proofs and plates for offset jobs, as well as sending to and operating Canon C7000VP, Konica-Minolta 6500 and 6501 Digital Presses. All presses used a Fiery RIP Bulk Mail/Variable DataSort Mail according to US Postal regulations using Satori Software. Once sorted, print mail either on Secap Inkjet printer or export and merge with native file and print on Digital presses. Client supplied data files also merged with native files to create personalized marketing projects as well as customer statements etc.During this time period I have also relied on old skills such as Construction and Food Service for extra income.

Started in February 2004 as a Prepress Operator.Responsible for the preflight and production of customer files in a Direct to Plate workflow. All major prepress/design applications used in both Mac and PC platforms. Files processed using Rampage rip and imposed for output to either a Fuji Dart or Fuji Javelin Platesetter. Plates were then output for production on both Sheetfed and Web presses.Promoted to Manager for the Bulk Mailing Department launched in the spring of 2007.Oversee all phases of mailing operations including scheduling of jobs, ordering supplies and equipment, supervision of 5 employees, give guidance to clients and designers to ensure postal regulations are met and best possible rates can be used. Also work closely with internal Prepress Department to make sure any possible problems are addressed in proofing stage so that jobs are printed to proper postal specifications. Maintain a good relationship with local Postal employees to make sure they will treat our mailings with great care and contact me to resolve any problems that may arise once the mail is entered into the Postal system.Also spent approximately 25% of my time helping out in Prepress Production with difficult, client supplied files.
