A dual engineering & Cad Design role using V5 CATIA.Design, packaging & release of Hand brake Cables, Brake pipes, Steering Wheel & Rear Cross member and Tow Bar Assy to TATA design specifications and systems.Packaging, Design and Engineering of Chassis systems on two new Electric vehicles

Duel Engineering & Cad Design role using V5 CATIA.Design & package of Pedal box (Clutch, Brake & Throttle pedal) & Handbrake Lever assembly (Cable for 9T & Air for 12T), with associated pipes/cable runs for a commercial Truck programme.Engineering responsibilities include: Identifying purchase BOM for both Prototype & Engineering build phases, preparing & issuing Engineering Bid specification sheets for initial quotations, Identifying prototype parts route, system FMEA's & completion of all Assembly & component calculationsResponsible for the Pedal box & Handbrake system within DMU & with the Prototype Vehicle updates required for these systems. Release of CAD models or drawing information using the Daimler CVD methodology system.

Engineering of Pedal controls, EPB systems & Suspension Linkages (Front Knuckle, Front LCA & Rear links) using Ford/Land Rover design tools & systems.Overseeing designs through development & testing stages into production, supporting both process & manufacturing to ensure their smooth launch for both new or revisions to existing products/models.Application of Ford/Land Rover design tools & techniques to support the engineering process including FMEA, WER's, ERM, Deep Dives, APQP & AIM's.Running Weekly meetings with suppliers, bringing in associated internal personnel (such as purchase, manufacturing, logistics etc) to ensure all issues & requirements are covered & actions allocated accordingly.Gathering of cost information associated with the design process such as piece part costs, testing, tooling, logistics etc.Use of Microsoft Project to track critical paths & manage designs to ensure all milestones are met

Packaging of Chassis components supporting a mule build for a future sports model. Components included Suspension - Front & Rear, Braking components, Machined uprights/Wishbones, Tyre envelopes & sub frames.Ensured through liaison with the stressing area that all designs met current customer requirements for all loading conditions.

Responsible for all other designers within Chassis, with regard to project placement, workload scheduling, recruitment & their appraisals.Use of CATIA V4 for packaging studies, new designs & production drawings to customer requirements in the following areas: Transmissions, Exhaust, Powertrain, Wheel & Tyre, Brakes, Steering, Fuel systems, Suspension & Pedal box assemblies.Complete design & engineering of a blow moulded Fuel Tank system from concept through to production. Including Fuel & Purge system pipe bundles, Fuel Filler neck assemblies & Fuel tank cradle.Powertrain sub-system packaging including cooling systems (radiators, oil cooling, charge air cooling & hose/pipe runs), air intake systems (air filter, dirty air intake & ducting).Detailed design & checking of information with regard to customer standards for packaging, design layouts, CAD drawings/models including: location/reference systems, car lines, measuring points, sets, layers and naming conventions.

Production of automotive 3D models, layouts, tooling & isometric exploded drawings.Liaison between various departments with reference to overlapping design areas & cross car design.Areas included BIW, Instrument panel & H.V.A.C. This included plastic injection mouldings (handbrake cover), rubber-stamping and heat staking assemblies.Carrying out of cost saving/weight reduction exercises.

Use of CATIA V4 in the design & detailing of lightweight Aluminium riveted assemblies, electrical equipment & composite/plastic parts for use on various Aircraft/Helicopters. Design of barrier filter assemblies & integrated Helicopter engine intake systems to international Aerospace & Military specifications.Detailing of Aerospace Air filter manifold assemblies & Auxiliary filtration equipment.

Use of a drawing board in the development of thermostats & electro-mechanical temperature control equipment used on gas & electrical heating appliances.
