As a software engineer, I most enjoy solving problems that enhance others lives. Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to spend the majority of my professional career working at a digital agency that has undergone tremendous growth since I became part of the team. This environment has been instrumental in my growth professionally, technically and personally.Working in this type of ever-changing and dynamic environment has ingrained in me the necessity for constant learning that is required to stay relevant in today’s technology driven world.Currently in my career, I often find myself filling various roles. While they vary, I often find myself as a project lead or architect, sometimes as a developer resource for a lead, but also as manager and mentor to other software engineers. These roles include architecting ASP.NET solutions, implementation, proposal writing/contribution, estimation, project planning, employee reviews, meeting with clients, leading meetings, code reviews, definition of coding standards, RFP responses, etc...Professionally, my interests are usually piqued when I'm learning something new or when I am designing a system to solve a problem or a set of problems. I enjoy working with and collaborating with team members on projects and am happiest when I have the opportunity to mentor and learn with those team members.I am currently most excited about cloud computing (primarily Amazon Web Services), service based architectures and mobile development.

I spent a lot of time working with Java, ASP and Oracle while working for Eaton. I was also heavily involved in an RFP process for a competitive intelligence portal.Some highlights during my time with Eaton:- Crafted a portal to the Eaton Fluid Power Data Warehouse using JSP pages, Java Beans and Oracle that provided a single, secure entry point for Eaton's business analysts, sales force and data warehouse team.- Assisted in the design of a web based registration application for the Eaton Fluid Power Training Department to facilitate cost savings. This was accomplished through the use of ASP pages and Oracle. Contributions included the creation and normalization of a relational database, as well as most of the VBScript programming used in the ASP pages.- Participated in the search and evaluation of more than two dozen competitive intelligence products. Narrowed the initial list of products, made a recommendation and provided technical advising on the feasibility of integrating the products with Eaton's existing technical infrastructure.- Designed a web-based, enterprise application for standardizing the reporting structure of facility maintenance projects within the Aeroquip Group worldwide.
