A detail-oriented electronics engineer and pioneer of Independent Distribution who has spent his entire life working within OCM, OEM, CM, and Independent Distribution organizations which have given me an in-depth first-hand understanding of the electronic component supply chain.I am the founder and CEO of PC Components Company (PCC), a highly respected Independent Distributor since 1984. PCC was originally a division of PC Enterprises who was a leading OEM of IBM and Tandy computer upgrades.I am the Senior Executive Board member of the Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA), having been elected by the IDEA membership to serve five consecutive 3-year terms.My goal is to make the Independent Channel of Distribution a safe marketplace. I have worked towards this goal by helping to establish objective differentiators for to raise the bar for quality Independent Distributors.At the time I joined the IDEA, members were only required to be ISO "compliant" and to have "an ESD program in place". Under my lead, while working with Executive Director Deborah Eggemen, we expanded the membership requirements to include ISO Certification traceable to the IAF and ANSI ESDI S20.20 certification were adopted as membership requirements.After serving on the IDEA board for only two years, the board elected me president of the IDEA. Under my Executive Leadership, the IDEA released IDEA-STD-1010B "Determining the Acceptability of Components Sold on the Open Market", the IDEA-ICE-3000 Professional Inspector Certification Program, and I led the work to initiate the development of IDEA-QMS-9090 a Quality Management System for Independent Distribution.I was invited by NASA to present a paper at the CALCE Counterfeit Part Symposium attended by NASA primes, I've spoken at numerous Supply Chain conferences for OEMs and CMs, and was hand-selected by NASA to participate as the Independent Distribution sector expert in a supply chain round table for NASA primes.I also developed process and instructional materials used by NASA's Jet Propulsion Labs into JPL's Internal Inspector Certification program.
