I started this job at the beginning of a large store renovation. The renovation is now complete. With construction inside and out, the cleaning role changed continuously. However there were daily scheduled cleaning tasks which include: store shelves, counters, floor clean-up, price strip cleaning, glass displays and doors, dusting, garbage pick-up, washrooms, light duty repairs, and much more.

I answer all reception reports for listeners of CFRB 1010 and CFRX 6.070 MHz shortwave. A QSL card is sent to listeners who send in accurate reception reports. This has been a voluntary service for the last 27 years. I created a web site for this service: (www.cfrx.webs.com), This has been a fun project. I've communicated with thousands of listeners all over the world.

Canada's largest shortwave listening organization. I've held a number of positions over the years, including the role of Chairman for one term and a board member for 4 terms. I have a strong interest in the promotion of the hobby and helped establish a number of programs to increase membership over the years. I've organized yearly conventions, monthly meetings, radio camps, hobby shows and was a regular guest speaker around Southern Ontario. I produced a twice-monthly segment on the Bob McLean Show over the CKO Radio Network in 1989. This program was heard coast to coast.

My antenna consulting and installing service branched out into promoting shortwave radio through regular appearances on local and international radio stations and appeared on local TV stations...Global, CTV, Scarborough Cable TV. I created and taught an Introduction to Shortwave Radio evening course at the community college level. Regular sessions were held at Centennial College, Sheridan College, Seneca and Humber College. I spoke to over 25 amateur radio clubs throughout the southern Ontario and was a regular media contact for the Toronto broadcast community. I formed close ties with SONY and Panasonic, Kenwood, Grundig and Icom, leaders in the shortwave manufacturing field.

Created an Introduction to Shortwave Radio Course. This 12 week course ran twice a year through the Continuing Education Programs at Centennial, Sheridan, Seneca and Humber College. I used textbook, over-heads, video-tapes and guest speakers to provide a well rounded introduction to the hobby. Centennial offered an Adult Education Teaching Certificate program, which I took and obtained my certificate.

Daily visits to Toronto area businesses to maintain their lobby or office plants...watering, cleaning, pruning and replacement.

My segment was a basic introduction to international broadcasting (shortwave radio). The programs were aired 'live' twice-monthly. Discussions pertained to the basics of international radio listening, how to get started in the hobby, what you will hear and provided recorded samples of international stations. I brought in my own guests to the show who were specialists in the radio hobby. When CKO Radio closed its doors in late 1989, I continued with Bob McLean on his regular TV show on CKCO in Kitchener, Ontario.

Hospice King was one of the first community based palliative care services in Canada. I was the only hired staff to oversee this service into the York Region community. I did general office work, phoning, volunteer co-ordination, liaison with media and medical support, churches, and many other services involved with our client base. I was also a guest speaker to many groups in southern Ontario who were planning to establish a similar Hospice service.

Worked in an after school (residential) program with students with severe learning disabilities. 40 students from across Ontario were selected for this school. Trillium School is a recognized training facility for teachers specializing in the Special Education field. Behaviour management, role modeling, and learning support were some of the duties in this job.

Servicing cable TV issues in homes and commercial locations in downtown Toronto. They had just introduced the first wireless remote control TV converter when I was at Rogers...quite revolutionary at that time!

General summer maintenance..grass cutting, painting, cabin clean-up, minor repairs, driving, liaison with teachers running programs through-out the summer months.
