He has a talent at seeing the potential in people and is great at giving them the freedom and motivation to express it. Steve has, at various times: made me see what the path forward is, when I didn't think I had one; taken the time to explain the rationale for what I considered "busy work"; taught me higher level abstractions, like the cost of code debt, the danger of band-aids, and the value of empathy; and has given me the time and space needed to complete projects. During the two and a half years I worked for him he was always professional, insightful, humble, and, in general, a pleasure to be around. It's been a blast."
