    2020 onwards- Working with TechRe & Proximity Datacentres, the UK's leading Edge Data Centre, on strategy, marketing and business development activities. Developing connectivity and low latency (sub-10ms) solutions to drive edge computing applications into a network of 20 data centres. Responsible for all marketing activities including Digital, PR and managing CRM system. Developing sales propositions to sell edge solutions to CDN's, IoT/5G application developers and fibre providers. Other low latency applications supported include AR&VR and Cloud Gaming. Launched the EDGE IX strategy to develop Internet Exchanges at the regional data centres including IX Birmingham.2019 - 2020 Welsh Government / LINX (London Internet Exchange)Background - in 2014 the Welsh Government and LINX had established a regional peering centre in Wales (LINX Cardiff) to encourage ISPs and Content Providers to co-operate by keeping internet traffic local and not be routed via London. LINX Cardiff had failed to grow, and I was asked to establish the factors behind the poor performance then develop and implement a plan on how to remedy the situation. Activities included direct contact with ISPs and Content Providers, including the largest cloud providers (Google, AWS, Facebook) to encourage membership. This required the establishment of a 2nd internet exchange site in a carrier-neutral data centre. I also briefed the Welsh Government Ministers on the socio-economic benefits of regional peering and gained approval for a range of financial instruments to drive new members.

    October 2014 to December 2014 – TeleWareTeleWare is a UK based software house which develops voice recording solutions primarily for the financial services sector based on voice platforms from Cisco, Mitel and Unify. TeleWare needed help to understand the impact on their business from the increasing popularity of Microsoft Skype for Business and how to compete against it. I developed a series of ‘Sales Aids' documents and trained the sales team on how to sell against Microsoft. I also advised the product development team on how to develop a superior solution which was compatible with, and superior to Microsoft's internal solution.May 2014 to August 2014 – Gamma TelecomGamma is a UK channel-centric telecoms and data services provider with a turnover of over £200M. The management team wanted to know more about Microsoft Skype for Business and how they and their channel partners could commercialise the opportunity. I was asked to brief the team on the solution and research the market to look at the opportunity to sell voice services based on Microsoft Lync. This was both new channel recruitment and a new service revenue opportunity.October 2013 to March 2014 - NHS Wales / Swansea UniversityNHS Wales and Swansea university had co-operated in building a Private Cloud, PaaS for the Healthcare vertical. I was the commercial lead for the Cloud computing platform to help SME developers design, develop and deliver applications into the NHS. This meant engaging with small software houses to use the platform as well as NHS IT and Procurement. Also involved working with industry partners as well as large end-users to develop business cases and strategy.Other contracts from April 2010 to January 2014 include Sales Development roles for Data Centres, ISP's and hardware manufacturers.
