About Steve Declercq

Born & raised in Osted, went to college in my hometown & studied in Ghent before starting my career in Antwerp.My career started at CAST where I held various sales & marketing positions both in Belgium, in Rotterdam and near Gatwick (UK) followed by a long stint at CMA CGM as Director Operations and General Manager for the North European Dispatch Center (Intermodal Transport, Logistics & M+R). Later on I joined URS SMIT (now Boluda) where I enjoyed visiting ocean carriers and brokers for the off-shore industry worldwide. Later on I spent interesting times at Duisport Agency (dpa) -the latter as Director Benelux. While with dpa got the request to set-up an agency and consequently started my own company “SDE Logistics” in Antwerp which grew over the years to a mature organization (today "Grapevine Capital"). Last job till Dec 2021 was Chief Business Officer at DPW Antwerp Gateway with a track record of successful negotiations with global Shipping Lines.Happy to be back in my place of birth & working for Port Oostende (www.portofoostende.be) where we focus on circular economy, energy transition (offshore windmills, floating solar panels, shorepower, H2 bunkering station, etc.) and handling of project cargo, breakbulk, general cargo, offshore industry installation, containers and so on.I am happily married and have two sons (°1999 & °2000). I do enjoy riding my race or mountain bike as well as travelling and have a weak spot for my two favorite football teams KV Ostend and Tottenham Hotspur FC.
