Rugby Australia’s Community Rugby Department provides an array of central services to their Member Unions in each state and territory. The departments role supports the delivery of community Rugby programs with the provision of policies, systems, education, resources and staff. As a manager covering a number of areas, responsibilities have included the establishment, implementation, education and support for various national community rugby programs, as part of the Member Union/Association strategic and operational plans, plus dissemination of programs to affiliate community groups, school bodies and others. Academic duties involved both teaching and program writing as well as the establishment of new PDHPE program content, years K-12. This included the facilitation of a mentor-training-management program with adolescent Rugby boys, and gross motor program for K-2 students. Responsible for the Rugby Union program across the whole school and the tournament director of WSRT. Tasks included both program review, development & coordination, coaching/mentoring the coaches, sponsor procurement and service, event and match day management and tour coordination.
