I am an entrepreneur and documentary filmmaker based in LA & DC. I work in a senior role at four entities: Perpetuo Films, Vibe Tours, Dorst MediaWorks, and West Africa Video. Perpetuo Films is a film studio with an ambitious educational mission to improve the world through story. Our three initiatives are #PerpetuoOriginals (we make nonfiction films for people who give a damn), #PerpetuoImpact (we tailor distribution strategies for other filmmakers); and #PerpetuoFilm3 (we strive to amplify filmmaker autonomy and ownership to make the documentary industry more sustainable.) Influencer EJ Jones is the VIP cyclist headlining the Malaga, Spain trip in early 2025. In some ways, I fell into this business. As an avid cyclist and frequent traveler myself, I looked far and wide for the kind of fun-filled “summer camp” cycling trip I would love and I couldn’t find it. So I created it. Since 2002, Dorst MediaWorks has produced inspiring documentary-style "Videos for Good" around the globe for international organizations looking to show results, create awareness, or raise funds. To date, we've produced some 500+ films for 50+ clients in 40+ countries, including some very challenging places: Afghanistan, Malawi, Zimbabwe, etc. What makes us stand out is that we are experts in international development AND film production. Our clients include USAID and its implementers, the World Bank Group and partners, and diverse nonprofits that are changing the world one person, one project at a time. Through this work, we aim to make the world a more just, sustainable, and equal place — and strengthen the organizations that are doing this important work. West Africa Video (WAV) was a logical offshoot of Dorst MediaWorks. After frequent trips to the region, I saw an opportunity to work more closely with my collaborators there. Today, what differentiates WAV is the ability to capture same-day content for international brands/organizations in a region not known for its video vendors. Over time, I have directed, produced , operated camera, and edited. My favorite thing is working with smart, talented, diverse people to tell entertaining, impactful stories.
