Description - The Volunteer Center of Gloucester County (VCGC) was established as a private, independent 501c3 non-profit organization in 1996 with support from the United Way of Gloucester County and the Board of Chosen Freeholders. In January of 1999 the Center moved onto the Gloucester County College campus, where it remains to this day. The Center’s leadership, volunteers, staff, Board and supporters continue to be committed to changing lives, strengthening our community, and meeting social needs through increased volunteerism in Gloucester County.

At Macy's Men's Tailored Clothing, I was a full-time commission-based sales associate. I assisted my customers with their wardrobe selections, including the fitting of the garments, and any required markings for alterations. I am well-versed in the fabrics, styles and trends in fashion that will make any gentleman look good. I maintained an attractively merchandized and well-organized showroom, adjusting for seasonal clothing options. I kept my customers informed of upcoming events, and contacted them when new merchandise arrived in-store.

Pennsauken, New Jersey

At the Volunteer Center of Camden County, I performed the duties of the Director. Being the sole staff member in the Volunteer Center Program, this position gave me the opportunity to utilize all my skills and abilities. I performed all the administrative duties of the program: mailings, database management, social media (FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Constant Contact), newsletter creation and design, volunteer interviews, hiring and supervision. The Volunteer Center worked with a network of over 150 non-profit agencies, all of which utilized volunteers within their agencies. The Center recruited and screened, and then referred appropriate volunteers to the most approporiate volunteer positions available. It was my job to feel the pulse of the local community, to know where volunteers were needed, and to effectively screen and place them for maximum positive outcome.

At JBF Catering, I worked as a member of the bartending and kitchen staff at private parties for the catering firm. I worked parties as small as eight as a private chef, and for parties as large as 1,000 as part of a larger team. I also bartended for many events, weddings, and parties for Just Between Friends Catering.

As a McKesson Manager, I utilized my skills and experience in a direct supervisor capacity of a fast-paced medical supply Call Center Operation . I was responsible for staff supervision, performance reviews, on-site coaching and training of Call Center Representatives on policies and procedures. I quickly adapted and effectively handled customer and employee escalations. I also provided testing and troubleshooting of billing system’s rules for compliance with ICD-9 codes and insurance allowables.

Moorestown, New Jersey

At Moorestown VNA and Hospice, I was responsible for the recruiting, training, placement and retention of volunteers withing both the Visiting Nurse Program and the Hospice and Palliative Care Program. I maintained a detailed database of the volunteers, sortable by activity of preference, skills, availability and location. I personally trained the volunteers on the Hospice Culture and the methods of care...and how beneficial these programs are to the patient and to the family. I also recruited and placed volunteers within the Agency for the annual Golf Tournament, within the Agency programs as needed for clerical assistance, and especially in the VNA's Flu Clinic Program.

Bellmawr, New Jersey

At the AIDS Coalition of Southern New Jersey, I was responsible for the volunteer and special events programs. I maintained a database of all volunteers, sortable by multiple queries, and recruited, oriented, trained and placed volunteers into direct service within the AIDS Coalition's programs. During the peak of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the program had over 1,600 volunteers. The volunteers were active in fundraising, meal delivery, buddy services, office and clerical duties, landscaping and maintenance, and often served on committees for extended program development and implementation. I planned and coordinated an annual Volunteer Appreciation event, complete with awards. I also proofed and edited the agency newsleter prior to publication. I was responsible for many fundraising initiatives, including the AIDS Coalitions's team in the Philadelphia AIDS Walk, the Designer Auction for AIDS, and Dining Out for Life.
