Hey there! I'm Steve, Managing Director of activIT systems.We're a friendly and determined team of 20 passionate IT pros situated in Perth, Western Australia and Devonport, Tasmania. Whether its a sole trader or a 100-staff super office, we're really bloody good at providing IT managed services and cyber security to SMBs!We started from humble beginnings back in 2004 but with the many business and life lessons that came, it was only in the last four or five years that we really found our happy place. Since then, it's been gangbusters!As for me, back when I was in high school I used to walk past a building under construction on Newcastle St in Leederville, WA, and think "Man it'd be cool to have an IT or web design business in that building!". Fast forward to my early 40s and I have that cool IT business (albeit in a different building), and that makes me a happy chap.There's a tinge of regret that I didn't push myself when younger; I should've studied harder in school and listened to my parents about careers, uni, and education. If I could jump in a time machine and give Steve-in-his-early-20's some advice it'd be to not shy away from commitments and having half a foot outside the comfort zone is where the good things start to happen.Moving to the present, I quite relish the challenges that the IT industry and business ownership present, I enjoy having a team behind me, and the whole load of responsibility on our shoulders that keeps our service great and clients keep coming back.The company has managed to survive through the GFC and WA's mining woes fairly unscathed despite a lot of early exposure to the resources sector. COVID bumped up our demand like you wouldn't imagine. We're really diversified now and I've learnt a big lesson about myself during those harder times; I'm fiercely persistent and I'll never ever give up, and that's one trait I'm thankful for.I have no time for world domination, my two kids keep me busy enough and bring me far more joy. I just like doing a great job and looking after people. Thanks for reading!
