Designed and built SeeYourImpact.org, a fundraising platform for creating and celebrating real impact through stories of change. Founded as a non-profit, our focus on outcome-based storytelling and increased donor transparency resulted in ~$2mm in donations to over 100 organizations in Asia, Africa and the Americas, and ~7,500 published impact stories. Implemented the donor web application and story-publishing technology, including external APIs and a mobile app to allow NGO field workers to capture story data in remote locations. Designed and implemented a new fundraising and communication tool for NGO champions, leading development of the tool through it's V1.0 release and first dozen customers. Designed and developed flagship product AskMe Enterprise, delivering enterprise knowledge management and tacit knowledge discovery for Fortune 500 customers. This project was a conceptual spinoff from previous AskMe.com work, rebuilt for new scenarios on a more robust enterprise platform and delivered in both on-premise and SaaS packages.AskMe was acquired by Realcom Japan in 2008, and I stayed on to manage the transition into the newly combined entity. AskMe.com was an early Quora-like website that reached ~10mm users. Commercial interest led to a custom "Enterprise" version and eventually to the formation of AskMe Corporation as an enterprise software provider in 2003. Managed a team of ~20 in front-end and back-end engineering as well as customer support and UGC verification teams. [ASP / Java]

Worked in Microsoft Research under the Chief Software Architect, creating a new development environment that incorporated domain-specific expression into large-scale engineering projects. Intentional Programming was an innovative implementation of the concept of "source code as database." I was responsible for building an IDE that presented a familiar text-editing paradigm on top of an underlying representation built from multiple projections of a source base. Components included a Word-like WYSIWYG editor, integrated VisualStudio-like debugging, and source control reminiscent of today's DVCS models.
