Appointed CEO at Simplify by private equity firm Palamon Capital Partners who acquired a majority interest in the Simplify Group in August 2014. Simplify operates in the UK consumer legal services market where there is significant opportunity for scale players to form and build market share through the creation of new technology-enhanced service delivery.

Joined the Consumer Leadership Team charged collectively with driving the successful take-up and operation of BT’s Telephone, Broadband and TV services in the UK.Appointed to the Executive Steering Board for BT Sport. Oversaw the preparations of BT’s contact centres (people, systems and processes) and their operational readiness for the launch of the TV channel and live broadcast of English Premier League football matches.

Appointed as COO to lead the transformation of 3, enterprise businesses with B2B and B2C plays in website design, hosting and digital marketing services, traditional print advertising media and BT’s directory enquiries service 118 500.Managed a £90m operating budget and led a multi-disciplined management team with responsibility for the effective day-to-day operational running of the businesses generating combined revenues of £140m, employing c.1200 staff operating from multiple UK sites and servicing over 10,000 customers a year. Governed a two year change programme collaborating with the wider leadership team, HR and Union representatives on restructuring, resizing and reskilling the organisations.

Championed innovation and drove thought leadership around expanding BT’s Consumer Product Portfolio. Managed a small matrixed scouting team based in the US that leveraged BT’s global reach into companies and adjacent markets to assess breakthrough and disruptive technologies, emerging business models and consumer trends. Identified growth opportunities and threats to BT.Introduced and facilitated Board level discussions with various technology start-ups which BT could partner and package as part of its consumer broadband and TV propositions.

Led BT’s Mobile Product Group with accountability for driving the Group’s Mobile Strategy in line with corporate objectives. Agreed a 5 year strategic plan for mobile with BT’s Operating Committee which resulted in renegotiating the MVNO relationship with Vodafone and significant investment in WiFi.

Joined the leadership team of a joint venture between BT and GCap with responsibility for developing the go to market strategy for launching a mobile broadcast TV business as a wholesale proposition to UK Mobile Network Operator’s.Negotiated broadcasting rights with the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and SKY. Brokered supply deals with Microsoft to license their mobile operating system and digital rights management software and HTC for the manufacture and shipping of hardware

Launched O2’s mobile games service, taking the proposition from concept to market in less than 12 months and delivering revenues in excess of target.

Joined the mobile internet start-up to work on developing and launching mobile banking services in partnership with retail banks in the UK.
