Opentext/Hummingbird/Kofax - Technical Lead / Pre-Sales / Product ManagerIa Systems Feb 2006 - Apr 2010ZaStarting my position at IA Systems in 2006, my role was dominant in professional services, development and consulting, specialising in the Open Text product suite as well as Kofax and Metastorm BPM.I was involved in a number of large Open Text eDOCS (formerly Hummingbird) implementations primarily in law firms and public sector, where I played a key role in implementing Open Text eDOCS at Parliament of South Africa in Cape Town for a complete ECM solution stack. I was then the key resource for implementing a custom Accounts Payable solution utilising both Open Text eDOCS and Kofax Ascent Capture and Kofax Transformation Modules (KTM / Xtrata Pro). Following this I did a number of deployments and custom developed solutions and migration tools for Multichoice around the Open Text eDOCS Perfectus Contract Management solution.I was also instrucmental in a number of custom developed technologies for IA Systems, targetting open source customer bases leveraging Open Text ECM products. I also built custom import modules for proprietary scanning solutions to import into Open Text Livelink.My role progressed from a technical lead into the pre-sales department where I focused as a pre-sales consultant in building product and solution demonstrations to customers, strategising the technoilogies stacks we proposed in our solutions and aided key decision makers in the selection of products we chose to work with. -
Metastorm/Kofax/Interwoven/Stellent - Senior Programmer And Technical ConsultantCkb Jun 2003 - Feb 2006At CKB I branched out as a technical consultant, engaging tightly with customers on a pre-sales level, performing POC's, assisting with tenders and providing a core role in the analysis, design, documentation, implementation and training of Enterprise Content Management solutions, namely Interwoven and Stellent.The core products driven by CKB were Interwoven, DICOM/Kofax, Metastorm BPM and Stellent. I was skilled in these products to install, configure, customise and enhance them through API development. I was certified with Kofax at this stage on Ascent Capture up to version 6.At CKB I was involved with custom developed applications as well, namely for UEC and built Forex Dashboards using ASP and built integration into Metastorm e-Work/BPM, providing powerful realtime Forex dashboards to drill deeply into their core business data.Later on at CKB, I built an in-house Document Management System, CaratDMS, which was a lightweight web-based CMS yet rich with features and tight with security. This web-based CMS was targetted to smaller organisation who cannot budget for the large scale ECM solutions/vendors and was built to be platform agnostic, thus you could install it on UNIX, Linux, Windows and Novell, allowing you to completely diversify your environment and making the solution fluid to any organisation IT investments.

ProgrammerTransunion 2000 - Jun 2003Chicago, Illinois, UsWorked at ITC as a programmer involved in the PC Application Developer team, building numerous web-based solutions as interfaces to drive core mainframe systems and technologies.Some examples of the solutions I built during my employ with ITC include the interactive Consumer and Business Online Credit Report System on the ITC website, allowing realtime verification and online credit card purchasing of your credit report, delivering the most up-to-date information on file to your desktop. Furthermore, I aided in the development and maintenance of the Business Subscriber System for credit granters, a portal for subscribers to ITC to lookup, manage and control their new credit applicants.The interfaces were build predominantly on ASP, JavaScript, VBScript with extensive ActiveX DLL components to communicate with a mix between SQL Server databases and Sybase Databases. Lower level components were build to communicate in realtime with mainframe applications, typically using TCP IP protocols.
